Gorgeous! Will & Toast have made some very good points. They would be much better playing cards if they had the suit on all of them, but as far as the artwork goes, these are positively stunning.
Good job giving credit where credit is due. People use other people’s creativity on their blog to make up for their lack of it, but can’t even make clear where they stole it from.
@NICOLE
The 2nd King can’t be a spade because there’s already a king of spades. Must be clubs, although it isn’t too clear. You can kinda tell by the little curls in his head.
Really cool artwork though dude, but like everyone else said it’d be a little better to make the suites more noticeable, especially the king of clubs, the rest aren’t too bad.
The second K from the top would have to be clubs because there is already a king of spades.. The red J with the baby to me represents cupid, thus being the J of hearts. Lastly the Q below that is spades look at the skeletons nose its right there.
Those are really great, but I imagine there could be some confusion when actually playing with suits. I’d also like to see what the straight number cards look like as well.
With hearts there is a recurring theme (wings) and same with spades (death) If these themes were continued throughout the whole deck there wouldnt be too much confusion while playing. I might do some research and see if he did all 52 otherwise i might have a crack myself , just for lolz :P. Amazing!
These are pretty terrible playing cards, and decent illustration work. Terrible playing cards because the suit is not immediately distinguishable, and decent illustrations because they’re nothing special. Average work on an average blog with average comments.

Sep 3rd, 2010I don’t like that you don’t get the suite on all of them. Like the king and the jack up there.
Toast
Sep 4th, 2010I don’t like it. The suit isn’t immediately discernible on some of the cards, could lead to playing confusion. Nice illustrations though.

Yes, whenever possible I give credit where it’s due. Sometimes tineye.com helps to find the original.

Sep 13th, 2010Sure they look neat, but there’s no way I’d want to play with these cards. I’d get confused!

Oct 7th, 2010They absolutely have the suit on all of them. You need to open your eyes and look for it.
Nichole
Oct 7th, 2010The suits go (and correct me if I’m wrong someone) from the top down:
Hearts
Spades
Hearts
Spades
Spades
Hearts
Spades
Everyone else catching on yet?

Oct 14th, 2010Why is the baby with a gun a heart?

Nov 13th, 2010CAHBREIS…
The baby’s eye is a heart and the card is red.

Mar 11th, 2011This is really nice! Very cool illustrations. Better than the predictable stuff you see on all the other playing cards.
